About The Club

The Carnival Club was born back in 1937, making it the second oldest in current existence, and was based at the Coronation Inn. They had the glorious name of 'Coronoddies Carnival Club'.

In 1946 due to a move to the Golden Lion the name changed to 'The Golden Lion Carnival Club'.

This is the oldest surviving picture as far as we know. It is the The Golden Lion C.C. 1947 - The theme 'The Gauchos'
